Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry, Inc. was founded in 2007 to meet a growing need for expert pyrometry services. The executive leadership team of ATP has more than 100 years of combined service in the field of pyrometry. The core of ATP is providing quality service, with knowledgeable technicians, with an eye on cost effective measures that save our clients time and money.

Andrew Bassett
President
Andrew has more than 25 years of experience in the field of calibrations, temperature uniformity surveys, system accuracy testing, as well an expertise in pressure, humidity, and vacuum measurement calibration. Prior to founding Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry, Andrew previously held positions as Vice President of Pyrometry Services and Director of Pyrometry Services for a large commercial heat treater and Vice President and Quality Control Manager for a small family owned business.
His duties include maintaining an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited quality system, sales and marketing, performing onsite calibration and testing of customer’s equipment and attending customers Nadcap audits to help facilitate any questions that may arise during such audits.
Andrew stays active with organizations such as Nadcap and AMEC (Aerospace Metals Engineering Committee) to stay informed of the industry trends and specification changes necessary to remain compliant.
Andrew’s priority is client satisfaction. He accomplishes this by listening to clients concerns and needs. He will familiarize himself with the client’s equipment, processes and requirements which will then help determine the best option to perform the services required to meet customer and industry specifications.
With this in mind, he always brings a fresh perspective to the way calibration and testing should and needs to be conducted and will always strive for continuous improvement through his actions, service, and expertise.
Andrew received his Bachelors of Science in Communications from Davis & Elkins College, Elkins, West Virginia and is member of AMEC, SAE and ASM International.

Tom Zimmerman
Vice President of Operations
Tom has been in the Aerospace industry for 20 years and held many positions in this time. Tom has 18 years of expert NDT experience. He currently holds a Penetrant Level III certification and is knowledgeable in Magnetic Particle and Radiography inspections. He has successfully completed many Nadcap NDT audits in the three disciplines (FPI, MPI & X-RAY).
While working in the Aerospace industry, he has held several different positions, including Manual Machinist, CNC Machinist, Tube Bender, Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager. Tom currently is Vice President of Operations with Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry and manages the Northeast Division located in Hartford, CT area. His service area includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and New York.
Tom also provides his expertise in NDT as a consultant and has developed NDT programs for various clients.

Colin Thomas
Heat Treat / Nadcap Consultant
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Colin has in-depth knowledge of all major aerospace heat treating systems and processes. He has extensive experience with research, development and introduction of high temperature materials for gas turbine airfoil manufacture. He successfully led process ownership teams involved with establishing best practices for vacuum heat treatment processes across multiple domestic and international manufacturing sites.
Colin holds a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Manchester, England. Upon completion of his studies, he joined Howmet Corporation, a world leader in superalloy and titanium alloy investment casting production, working in the areas of advanced material development and manufacturing processes. From 1982 through 2002 he held various engineering leadership, technology management and process ownership positions within Howmet Corporation.
Colin has been a special process heat treat auditor for Performance Review Institute from 2002 to 2013 with more than 250 successful Nadcap audits. During that time he encountered many diverse heat treatment practices and used his knowledge to identify critical non-compliance issues relative to heat treatment, materials testing and quality systems. He has cultivated strong interpersonal skills and fostered positive working relationships with many aerospace heat treatment suppliers.

Dante Molle
Certifications Officer / Aerospace Compliance Software Manager
Dante joined ATP in August 2014 as the Certifications Officer. His primary role and responsibilities have been to review ATP certifications and test reports. He has streamlined the certification and reports process, which allows our clients to receive their reports error free and in a timely fashion.
Dante has also been working on ATP’s ISO-17025 Quality Program. He has developed the necessary procedures and work instructions for Measurements of Uncertainty and Proficiency Testing Program.
Dante is a graduate of Lehigh University and received his M.Ed in Mathematics Education. During his time there, he was the Assistant Editor of Cryptologia, an academic journal focusing on cryptology. He also works for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth as an instructor for the cryptology courses.

Dale T. Praznik
Calibration Lab / Quality Manager
Dale, Calibration Lab/Quality Manager, brings over 35 years experience and expertise related to in-house calibration of field test and secondary standard instruments to our new Pyrometric Metrology Calibration Lab in Bedford, Ohio.
Dale manages and maintains our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration lab to assure your secondary standard and field test pyrometric test equipment is calibrated and repaired to meet the demanding requirements of aerospace specifications, particularly AMS 2750.
Prior to joining the team at ATP, Dale held multiple management positions related to Quality Management Systems, Thermocouple Calibration, Temperature Instrumentation Repair and Calibration and IT Network Systems for a major Industrial Thermocouple Manufacturer.
Dale is a member of ASTM International (Committee E20 on Temperature Measurement) and ASM International.

Michail “TJ” Evans
Southern Division Manager
TJ joined Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry in March 2019 after spending eight years as a Maintenance Technician at a large Aerospace Manufacturing Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His duties included maintaining autoclaves, bond, cure ovens and facilities equipment. He enjoyed working on the thermal processing equipment the most and found it fascinating on the testing that needed to be conducted on them. TJ was always conscientious that the thermal processing equipment was working to its top potential. His expertise is correcting problems and his vast maintenance background made TJ a great fit to join Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry. The Southern Division of ATP’s territory covers Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri.

Matt Boldman
Mid-West Division Manager
Matthew has been in the aerospace industry for six years. He began his career as a heat treat operator and from there, he became the process owner of the heat treat and brazing department of one of Standard Aero’s facilities. Based in Ohio Matt brings to ATP the experience of performing pyrometry services and developing processes in line with NADCAP and aerospace primes such as GE and Pratt &Whitney. He has held customer certifications of DQR, CHTR, and CLCSR for Pratt & Whitney and GE’s DSQR. He also has experience managing a calibration system and developing other quality processes in compliance with NADCAP non-conventional machining, NDT, and welding. In his time in aerospace he has developed a well-rounded resume that is a perfect fit for ATP’s business model and adds to the strength of ATP as a leader in the aerospace service industry. The Mid-West Division covers Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, & Kentucky.

Russell Little
Mid-Atlantic Division Manager
Russell joined Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry in September 2019 after spending several years as a Pyrometry Technician at an Aerospace Commercial Heat Treat in Georgia. It was here he was able to fine tune his Pyrometry skills assisting with maintaining all calibration and testing of various thermal processing equipment. He was able to provide the necessary service and maintenance of the equipment to help the company achieve Nadcap Accreditation for Heat Treat. Since joining ATP, he has grown to become a valuable asset maintaining over 30 service accounts throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Virginia. Russell always does what it takes to go the extra mile for his clients to ensure the testing he is providing keeps them compliant to industry and prime aerospace Pyrometry requirements.

Richard Rasmussen
Southeast Division Manager
Richard comes to ATP with over 10 years of experience in the heat treating field. His experiences include being a Pyrometry technician, furnace operator, and a qualified FAA hardness inspector. Richard was previously employed at a Nadcap accredited heat treat facility that was able to achieve merit status during his tenure. He was responsible for all Pyrometry testing and compliance for entire thermal processing equipment. One of his best attributes is his ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with heat treating furnaces. He has a full understanding of AMS-2750E as well as prime aerospace Pyrometry specifications and has heat treat audit experience.

Anthony Gomez
West Coast Division Manager
Anthony joined ATP with a combined 14-year background in Aerospace production Facilities. He started in a Machine Shop with hands on experience as an operator and continued with his knowledge to learn Heat Treat and continue his career. Anthony started from the basics of a Heat Treat to scheduling, purchasing and maintaining equipment along with all employee shop needs. During his years of experience, he has helped streamline pyrometry requirements and he has helped with achieving many NADCAP merit statuses. Anthony has extensive knowledge of AMS 2750 and is willing to help on rationalizing equipment.

John Hollman
West Coast Division Manager
John joined Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry in June 2020 after spending three plus years as a Pyrometry Technician at a Bodycote facility in California. His duties included Pyrometry testing of over 30 furnaces and ovens, provide maintenance to thermal processing equipment and to assist during Nadcap audits. Having John on board and his ability to jump in with his experience has been a valuable asset to the West Coast Division. With his experience, he has been able to troubleshoot client’s equipment that has been close to not passing Pyrometry tests, and has directed maintenance personnel as to what needs to be done to correct potential problems.
